The war between the Horde and the Alliance continues to escalate as both factions vie to claim Pandaria’s resources as their own. Deep within the Valley of the Four Winds, the mines of Deepwind Gorge serve as a Battleground where victory is measured not in fallen foes, but in gold. High atop the majestic mountains of Kun-Lai Summit, the Tiger’s Peak Arena—training ground of the Shado-Pan—tests the mettle of all who enter its perilous boundaries.

Deepwind Gorge

The war between the Horde and Alliance continues to escalate as both factions vie to claim Pandaria’s resources as their own. Deep within the Valley of the Four Winds, the mines of Deepwind Gorge serve as a Battleground where victory is measured not in fallen foes, but in gold.

In this level-90, 15-vs.15 Battleground, Horde and Alliance players begin at either side of the map and battle for control over three gold mines located centrally in the north, south, and middle.

Capturing a mine begins to add gold to your team’s count, and it continues to accrue as long as you have control of a mine. Controlling more than one mine at a time boosts the speed at which your team gains gold—though it would be wise to be wary of spreading your forces too thin.

The Cart of the Steal

Sometimes the best offense is a good defense, and that holds true within Deepwind Gorge. Each team has a mine cart at their base. If stolen, up to 200 gold will be removed from their total. If players return the cart, the gold will be restored. However, if the cart’s captured, their enemy will receive an additional 200 gold. A stolen cart or two could flip an entire battle on its head and change an inglorious defeat into a resounding win.

Just the Facts

Name: Deepwind Gorge

Location: Valley of the Four Winds

Size: 15 vs. 15

Combatants will need to take advantage of the looming tiger statues and fenced platforms to gain the upper hand and claim victory.

TERRAN

Tempered by hardship and strife, the resourceful terrans have proven a formidable match even for the technologically advanced protoss or the ravenous zerg.
The terrans are relative newcomers to the Koprulu sector. They are the descendents of a disastrous colonization expedition launched from Earth centuries ago, its human cargo made up of dissidents and malcontents the government deemed expendable. The survivors of the expedition established three colonies that became the basis for the major power blocs in terran space: the Confederacy, the Kel-Morian Combine, and the Umojan Protectorate. The corrupt Confederacy was overthrown by terrorist and revolutionary Arcturus Mengsk during the chaos of the zerg invasion. Now the Terran Dominion has emerged from the ashes of the old Confederacy as the dominant power, ruled by none other than Emperor Arcturus I.
Forced to adapt to the harsh existence on the mostly lifeless worlds of the sector, the terrans are masters of survival. With neither the advanced technology of the protoss nor the natural prowess of the zerg to rely on, the terran military forces consist of a varied mix of units. From basic but effective infantry like the Marines to heavily armed battlecruisers, terran units rely on solid armor, plentiful firepower, and strength in numbers to hold the line. Terrans excel in defensive situations where their bunkers and Siege Tanks really shine.
TERRAN CHARACTERISTICS
SURVIVORS
The terrans have learned to adapt their tactics to rapidly changing battlefield conditions in surprising ways. Terran production facilities, for example, can lift off and fly to different locations, allowing the terrans to relocate entire bases on the fly.
BUILD ANYWHERE
Unlike the other races, terrans can create buildings wherever they want. Combined with their production facilities’ lift-off capabilities, terrans have incredible base-building flexibility.
ADAPTABLE
The terran military includes highly trained and specialized infantry units such as the rugged and reliable Marines, guerrilla-fighting reapers, and the stealthy ghost infiltrators. Mixing different units allows the terrans to capably handle any situation.
NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED
The terran arsenal includes one of the game’s most devastating weapons, the tactical nuke. Nukes require a lot of planning, but once you see a mushroom cloud rising from the ashes of a vanquished foe’s base, you’ll know it was worth all the trouble.

Though all material items serve as channels for the wizard’s immense power, some have particularly special uses. Wizards wield orbs, which aren’t quite weapons – instead, they’re off-handed supplements that provide them with visions and knowledge to aid their spellcasting, or serve as reservoirs of power

What's New in Diablo III?

We're proud of the original Diablo's dark, moody atmosphere and engaging item-grabbing gameplay. Diablo II added more environmental and monster variety, more diverse classes, and a number of unique elements that have since become synonymous with the franchise (like gems, runes, set items, etc.).
Both games established the series' hallmarks: randomized levels, the relentless onslaught of monsters and events in a perpetually fresh world, unique quests, tons of items, and an epic story about the High Heavens, the Burning Hells, and the hapless and heroic human beings caught between them.
Diablo III is the inheritor of this legacy, and we've added even more elements to the game to keep building on our vision for the world of Sanctuary.

SKILL RUNES

In Diablo III, runes give you unprecedented control over your skills and
powers, changing elemental damage types, accuracy, and area of effect;
adding new debilitating effects like slows and stuns; and even altering the
nature and appearance of your abilities.
